Part One:
1. Infelix
2. Susie Asado
3. Nude Descending a Staircase
4. Pleasures, When You Are Old
Part Two:
1. I liked susie Asado because it was strange and i liked When You Are Old because i connected with it the first time i read it.
2. I did not like Infelix. I found it to be somewhat boring.
3. My favorite of these poems is definitely When You Are Old and it is the poem i have decided to read to the class.
4. The first time i read this poem i understood everything it said as i read it. I feel the same way about life as the author does.
Part Three:
1. evidence of understanding because i already understand this poem. i don't think i will have trouble with my voice and articulation either. i normally only have trouble giving a speech if i am not prepared. when i must memorize a speech i often am able to convey the ideas with more accuracy.
2. I will need to work on my poem a lot to be able to present a powerful dramatic speech. i will also need to be careful not to use an improper tone when i make my speech. I will just need to read and memorize the poem as well as i can and i should be able to present it correctly.
Part Four:
1. Stanley Andrew Jackson
Writ on the Steps of Puerto Rican Harlem
by Gregory Corso
- hand gestures
- active
- dramatic
- understood poem
- clear voice
2. Jackson Hille
Forgetfulness
by Billy Collins
-easy to understand
-caught the attention of the audience
-funny
Part Five:
1. I will need to study my poem for some time to be able to convey the words of the author as he would have. i am not a great public speaker but i will try my hardest to have a good presentation. i am often more successful at memorizing speeches and presenting them rather than reading from a piece of paper. i hope to place among the top presenters to receive extra credit.
